My name is Adam Crum, a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a family man, and a full time geek. Currently unemployed and living in Valley Springs, CA I am focusing on school and family all while trying to maintain my sanity in this terrible economy. I recently re-enlisted into the Army and will be shipping out to my job training in February. Until then, I am just working on my web development skills, programming, and still going to school.

When I am not working on my websites, I scour the net for tutorials, webcasts, and white papers for learning all types of things. My favorite thing to do is hit up NetBeans’ website or DreamInCode.net and go through, step by step, any tutorial that is available.

Programming wise, I have been feverishly trying to learn Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I have a half dozen books on the subject and I have been making small but significant steps to learning this fund and simple languge.

Prior to now I had been working the past few years in a career track that I don’t want to be in, but I am good at doing so I kept at it, but now I am taking the bull by the horns and intend on worming my way into the IT community. I don’t have my degree quite yet and I may not have ANY proffessional experience in the field but I will get in the door somehow.

Since I am now going back into the Army, I have been trying to get back into top physical condition. I started a fitness program called the Alpha Male Challenge, and it helped me to loose 25 pounds of fat. Now I am trying to build up some muscle so I can run with the big dogs again.

Anyway, if I am not being a geek and coding, or pumping iron at the gym, I am playing Guild Wars. Yeah, UberGeek right.
