One AIT Down, One to go
Apr 2nd
I would be well on my way home to hold my children and my wife again, but as is customary here in Fort Sill Oklahoma, I have had the old wool pulled over the eyes. Although the instructors and the command knew well in advance of what my order said, and knew exactly that I would need extra training to be qualified for the unit I am going to, they kept that information from me and several others until just 6 days before graduating. How sweet. Come to find out yesterday, that this was actually optional but it’s too late to change it. Nice.
It sucks for me with not being able to see my family for another month, but there is actually another guy who has a very hectic situation where he already had orders (from his last duty station in Germany) to go to his next one after this and his household goods were shipped last week and his wife getting ready to fly out from Belgium. They wont even change it for him. How sweet.
Well, its super raining this morning with lightning, so no PT outside atleast. Still have to do something inside I’m sure. Oh well. I am going to try to get back on this blog. I will have plenty of time this weekend. Maybe I will update the theme. That’s it for now.
0400 Wake ups
Feb 24th
Ok. So I am in my training unit. It sucks. I just had some DAP (dumb @ss private) bang on our door and flip the lights on and tell us to wake up. Im pretty sure that is asking for death when you tell a room full of sergeants and specialists to wake up. Basically, Ft. Sill sucks, and I can’t wait for the next 6 weeks to fly by. Hopefully I don’t have to choke out one of these privates that roll through my room like that. I’ve been to Iraq a few times man. PTSD could just come out of nowhere. You never know.
Internet at Last!!!!
Feb 19th
Finally! I think this is the longest I have ever been without internet since its inception. And thank heavens it is lighting fast too. T1 baby. I will give a big update on my weeks happenings in the morning, but basically this last week has really sucked. I have been treated like a boot private up until yesterday when I finally go to my training unit. I was actually stuck in an open squad bay with basic training "soldiers" who just got out of high school and stuff acting all big and bad. Not fun. Plus….in my training unit we are not allowed to go to the gym. W T F .
Just a few more days
Feb 4th
I know I haven’t blogged in a few days. Sorry. I was getting really busy with that e-commerce site I was building. I am done with that now, and I am focusing on my family, and getting ready to go next week. For the rest of my days here in Cali, I am going to be doing strictly cardio with very little weight training. Any lifting I do will be simply to maintain.
I don’t know if I am going to have internet access on a regular basis when I get to Ft. Sill, but I will try to give weekend updates. I want to thank my readers and commentators that have encouraged me over the past few months, and I hope you continue to follow me when I am officially a soldier. I will have much to offer soon, as some deals are in the wood works with some supplement companies. Keep tuned.
